Third Time's a Charm

As you may have (hopefully) read in my previous post, last week’s sprint review was postponed for this
coming week. So that’s the first thing that’s going to happen now. With this, we’ll hopefully get some
valuable feedback from Ken and our classmates for proposals and possible improvements to it all.

Other than that, and by judging at how our web platform is looking so far, I would like to add to my
“Doing” list the task of showing the data of plants to the user in helpful charts, statistics to let the user
easily know the conditions of a plant through time. This will finally get us to one of the key objectives of
our project: help prevent/warn the user of unwanted conditions for the plant’s health and wellbeing.

Hey there, again. So, 4 weeks have gone by already… time does fly. Also, now partials are here, but let’s not talk about that now. Or just as Michael Altshuler says, “ The bad news is time flies. It turns out I did some research into what has to be done so that the signals sent from the Raspberry reach out Broker with the HTTPS protocol, and I’m pretty sure I’ve found a way. But, this HTTPS protocol must also be enabled on our server, on a separate port. So, I’m going to have to hold on to that idea until actual support for it is added on our server. Other than that, I did some more research into incorporating more sensors to the platform, and it seems that we can use a “humiture” sensor, which measures both humidity and temperature. 2 sensors in on

Aaand what’s in our agenda for this week? Well, once again we all have to talk to one another about what’s left to merge from our individual tasks. This week we’ll have our third Sprint Review, and we have a few new things to showcase. We’ll see how it all goes. Until then, I guess that’s all. Pre-Mortem...

Hey there! This semester I’m going to be taking a class on software quality and testing with professor Ken Bauer, for which I will be posting updates in written blog format. I once took another class with him (a class on Software Engineering), for which you can see all my blogs here . My final review on that course can be seen here . If you read any of the previous links, it can be noticed that Ken’s teaching method is not ordinary. And this semester is not going to be the exception, we’ll still be taking a flipped-learning approach but with a few changes. Attendance, for example. Previously, there used to be no attendance. Being physically present in class was optional, it was up to everyone of us how we divided our workload and our times. Now, attendance will be closer to ordinary.
